Lippes Mathias LLP today announced that intellectual property attorney Joshua R. Rich has joined the firm as a partner in its Chicago, Illinois, office, expanding the firm’s national intellectual property law practice.

Rich brings over 30 years of experience as an intellectual property lawyer, representing clients in patent litigation, trade secret protection, trademark enforcement, copyright disputes, and complex commercial litigation. He has appeared before federal and state trial and appellate courts across the United States, as well as before the United States Patent and Trademark Office in inter partes review, reexamination, and interference proceedings.

Rich’s practice spans a broad range of industries, with significant experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device sectors. He also handles matters involving telecommunications, software, and graphical user interfaces. In addition, Rich advises clients on artificial intelligence (AI) compliance, AI-related intellectual property concerns, and enterprise data privacy policies.
