Lippes Mathias LLP is pleased to serve as legal counsel to CannonDesign in its acquisition of Ennead Architects, uniting two architectural firms in a deal that expands CannonDesign's global design practice. 

Ennead Architects, a 160-person firm with offices in New York, Los Angeles, and Shanghai, will operate as a distinct studio within CannonDesign under the name Ennead, a CannonDesign company. CannonDesign, an employee-owned firm with nearly 1,600 staff across 20 offices, brings capabilities spanning architecture, engineering, interior design, and consulting. The combined practice maintains Ennead's existing leadership, design culture, and team structure. 

The Lippes Mathias deal team includes Brendan J. Rich, partner and corporate practice team co-leader; Marshall J. Kobrin, senior associate; Elyse J. Ponterio, associate; and Devon R. McDonald, director of tax.
