Lippes Mathias LLP has announced that Marshall J. Kobrin, a senior associate in the firm’s Tampa Bay office, has been appointed vice chair of The Florida Bar Business Law Section Corporations, Securities & Financial Services Committee.
Kobrin will serve as vice chair from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, then begin as chair from July 1, 2027, through June 30, 2028. Marshall previously served as second vice chair from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.
The Corporations, Securities & Financial Services Committee includes lawyers and professionals in corporate, securities, mergers and acquisitions, financial services, and transactional law. Its members advise and represent business entities, investors, entrepreneurs, and financial institutions. Its work includes legislative and regulatory initiatives, monitoring federal and state developments and judicial decisions, and developing legislative proposals.
About Marshall J. Kobrin
Marshall J. Kobrin is a member of the firm’s corporate and mergers and acquisitions practice teams. His practice focuses on all aspects of mergers and acquisitions, private equity and independent sponsor transactions, corporate structuring and governance, succession planning, and general corporate matters such as entity selection and formation, partnership agreements, license agreements, and other matters related to the day-to-day operation of startup and seasoned businesses.
Kobrin has experience representing a diverse range of clients and industries in business acquisitions, including business services, home services, e-commerce, and technology. Kobrin has worked on more than 100 transactions in the lower middle market, often in the $5 million to $50 million range. In addition to his corporate practice, Kobrin provides strategic counsel to clients on intellectual property matters, with experience in trademark protection, copyright law, and trade secret preservation.
Prior to joining Lippes Mathias, Kobrin spent eight years in the Florida office of a Missouri law firm providing outsourced general counsel services and mergers and acquisitions representation.
