Lippes Mathias LLP is pleased to have served as legal counsel to John W. Danforth Company in its acquisition by EMCOR Group, a Fortune 500 mechanical construction and facilities services firm headquartered in Connecticut. 

Danforth, a Tonawanda-based mechanical contractor with more than 1,000 employees across New York, Ohio, and Vermont, will operate as an indirect wholly owned subsidiary within EMCOR’s Mechanical Construction Services segment. The transaction closed on Tuesday, November 4. 

The Lippes Mathias deal team included partners Brendan J. Rich and Eliza P. Shea, associate Elyse J. Ponterio, and Devon R. McDonald, the firm’s director of tax. 

Founded in 1884, Danforth has grown into one of the largest subcontractors in the Buffalo region, with continued expansion throughout the Northeast and Midwest.
