Independent Sponsor Attorney John J. Koeppel to Lead Executive Exchange at iGlobal Forum’s 19th Independent Sponsors Summit in New York City

Lippes Mathias LLP announced that John J. Koeppel, partner and leader of the firm’s independent sponsor practice team, will moderate an executive exchange at iGlobal Forum’s 19th Independent Sponsors Summit, taking place September 29–30, 2025, in New York City.

The summit, one of the leading conferences for independent sponsors and capital providers, will draw more than 400 attendees and host 1,000+ networking meetings. This year’s expanded agenda includes 26 one-on-one meetings per attendee, thematic networking blocks, confidential Chatham House discussions, interactive roundtables, and advanced content sessions designed to accelerate deal pipelines and build lasting relationships.

Koeppel will serve as the moderator for an executive exchange titled Aligning Incentives: Use of Deferred Consideration in Independent Sponsors Deals. The discussion will highlight current trends and strategies in structuring deferred consideration, including rollover equity, seller financing, and earn-outs.

About John J. Koeppel

John J. Koeppel is a partner and the team leader of the private equity and independent sponsor practice teams at Lippes Mathias LLP. He is a corporate attorney with more than 25 years of experience and has led over 250 transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, fund formations, co-investments, financings, and cross-border private equity deals.

He advises funds, independent sponsors, middle market companies, institutional investors, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals on a wide range of strategies, such as buy-out, growth equity, venture capital, fund-of-funds, secondaries, intellectual property, energy, real estate, and private credit.
