Koeppel, who leads the independent sponsor and private equity practices at Lippes Mathias LLP, was quoted by Bloomberg in a wide-ranging article examining why the independent sponsor model is attracting experienced finance professionals away from traditional private equity firms. Koeppel highlighted that many of today's most successful independent sponsor investors interested in the direct deal model are former private equity operators with specialized industry knowledge and established networks.
