Lippes Mathias partners Scott V. Carroll and Anoush Koroghlian-Scott, both members of the firm’s health care practice team, combined to present “Reimbursement Negotiations and Transparency: Interpretation of Price Transparency and Negotiating for Higher Reimbursement” at the 2023 North East Regional Urgent Care Association Conference. The presentation focused on the federal No Surprises Act of 2022 and its applicability to urgent care centers, identifying key reimbursement issues encountered by UCCs and more.

Scott V. Carroll, co-leader of Lippes Mathias’  health care practice team, brings more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare and life sciences practice group to his clients. He has represented everything from health plans, medical groups, hospitals, and integrated delivery systems to pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, research institutes, and specialty service organizations. Carroll represents management service organizations and entities involved in MSO transactions for physician, dental and veterinary services. He has counseled organizations on complex healthcare regulatory matters, corporate finance and mergers, acquisitions, investments, and joint ventures and collaborations, as well as research, development, distribution, and production and manufacturing agreements.

Anoush Koroghlian-Scott is a partner in the firm’s health law practice team and brings nearly 30 years of experience having practiced health law in private practice and in-house at various hospitals in the Capital Region. As a member of the senior leadership team at a large community hospital and prior roles as risk management director and compliance officer in other regional facilities, Koroghlian-Scott has a unique understanding of health care operations and the daily challenges to delivering high-quality health care services in a cost-effective manner. Her clients include hospitals, physician practice groups, mental health providers, billing companies and individual practitioners. She serves as a strategic business partner on a wide range of transactional and operational matters and offers her clients practical, innovative solutions that align with strategic goals and initiatives.
