Lippes Mathias LLP is pleased to announce that partner Tessa R. Scott, leader of the firm’s electronically stored information practice team, has been appointed to the board of directors at Stitch Buffalo, a 501(c)(3) textile art center dedicated to empowering refugee and immigrant women through the sale of handcrafted goods, inspiring creativity and inclusion through community education, and promoting environmental stewardship through the re-use of textile supplies. 

As a member of the board, Scott joins a team that collaborates with Stitch Buffalo’s executive director to set the organization’s budget, develop long-range plans, promote its mission within the community, and identify resources to sustain its programs. Board members serve three-year terms, and many first engage with Stitch as volunteers before joining the board. 

About Tessa R. Scott

Tessa R. Scott is a partner in the litigation practice team at Lippes Mathias LLP. She focuses her practice on commercial and general litigation across a diverse range of industries, representing clients in both prosecution and defense of civil matters in New York, Massachusetts, and federal courts nationwide. Scott serves as team co-leader for the firm’s electronically stored information practice, coordinating large-scale projects involving the analysis and production of electronic data. 

She is also a member of the firm’s asset receivable management & consumer financial services team, defending creditors against claims under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and related statutes. Her experience also includes insurance litigation defense, including premises liability in residential, commercial, and municipal contexts.
