Lippes Mathias LLP today announced that Matthew H. Maizes has joined the firm as a senior M&A associate on its private equity and independent sponsor team, based in the Tampa Bay office. 

Maizes advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and independent sponsor transactions, and general corporate matters. He has represented strategic and financial buyers and sellers in more than 100 lower middle market transactions, typically ranging from $5 million to more than $100 million. His experience spans a wide range of industries, including business services, home services, medical device and health care technology, manufacturing, construction, automotive, industrial products, and software. 

Before joining Lippes Mathias, Maizes was a corporate associate at a law firm in Tampa, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions. He also worked as an M&A tax senior associate in the Northern Virginia office of a Big Four accounting firm. 

Maizes earned an LL.M. in taxation from New York University School of Law. He received his J.D., cum laude, and his B.A., cum laude, from the University of Florida. 

He was named to Florida Super Lawyers Rising Stars in 2024 and serves as chairperson of Clearwater Young Professionals.
