BUFFALO, NY – Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman LLP is pleased to announce Barbara S. Cocciolo, Thomas J. Fennell, Emily G. Hannigan and Elizabeth M. Klarin have been elected partners with the firm.

A member of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Team in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, Ms. Cocciolo represents clients in connection with complex commercial real estate transactions, including sales, acquisitions, and financing of apartment complexes, resorts, hotels, and retail shopping centers. She assists in complex matters involving financing real estate bonds through bond offerings and the structuring, developing, operating and disposing of various types of real estate transactions. She is experienced in representing financial institutions in commercial and residential loan closings, foreclosures, loan restructurings, and REO sales. 
 
Based in the Buffalo office, Mr. Fennell, a member of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Team, focuses his practice on commercial real estate transactions, including sales and acquisitions, financings, project development, contract review and related real property title matters.  His experience includes representing local, regional and national developers, including owners of office parks, shopping centers and multifamily apartment complexes.
 
Ms. Hannigan is a member of the Labor and Employment Practice Team in the firm’s Albany office.  She represents public sector unions in matters involving members’ terms and conditions of employment, including disciplinary arbitrations, contract grievance arbitrations, improper employer practices before the New York State Public Employment Relations Board; administrative hearings before the New York State Justice Center; and, related litigation matters in New York State courts.   

Also based in the Buffalo office and with more than 15 years of immigration experience, Ms. Klarin assists clients with the full spectrum of U.S. immigration matters, including business immigration and family immigration strategies and solutions. She represents clients across Canada and around the globe from virtually every industry, as well as individuals seeking strategic immigration advice and support. In addition to being a member of the Immigration and Cross-Border practice groups, Ms. Klarin is a member of the firm’s Cannabis Law practice group assisting clients with the immigration-related implications of activities in the cannabis space.
