ALBANY, NY – Lippes Mathias Partners Jennifer C. Persico and Ian A. Shavitz presented “ Local Government Property Acquisition: In REM Update and Environmental Liability Considerations,” at The County Attorneys’ Association of the State of New York’s 2021 Annual Meeting.

Jennifer C. Persico, Partner and Litigation Practice Team Co-Leader, has extensive experience in business disputes and commercial litigation matters, including contract claims on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. She also has significant experience in municipal law. Jennifer’s practice includes assisting municipalities in defending 1983 claims, resolving land use issues, and drafting local laws and governance issues. Jennifer also has extensive experience in resolving complex disputes on behalf of her clients using both litigation and non-litigation methods.

Ian A. Shavitz is a Partner with Lippes Mathias and serves as the Practice Leader of the firm's Environment & Energy, Renewable Energy, and Transportation Teams. Ian has more than 20 years of experience counseling and advocating for clients on environmental and land use issues associated with developing large-scale infrastructure, energy, transportation, and commercial projects; securing federal, state, and local government permits and approvals; advising on environmental issues associated with corporate, real estate and energy transactions; and advocating for favorable policy decisions and legislation before Congress. While Ian’s practice is national in scope, he has expertise advising clients on projects, transactions, and legal issues in New York State, where he has practiced for his entire career.
