Matthew D. Asbell, a partner and member of Lippes Mathias LLP's intellectual property practice team, presented at a Fovea IP-hosted webinar today titled "Critical IP Due Diligence Factors in M&A" alongside Matthew Rubin, Director of Business Development at Fovea IP.

The session addressed IP issues that often surface late in deal processes and create avoidable risk. Asbell provided a framework for identifying and addressing key IP diligence issues earlier and more efficiently in transactions.

The discussion covered strategies for deal counsel to identify global IP risks across trademarks, patents, design patents, and copyrights; confirm ownership and enforceability to support clean transfer and deal certainty; and streamline diligence workflows to reduce reconciliation issues and time pressure. The webinar included a question-and-answer session.
