Bio
Mr. Allen helps companies and executives navigate high-stakes government investigations, enforcement actions, and sensitive internal matters with clarity and strategic judgment.
As a partner at Lippes Mathias LLP on the Government & Corporate Investigations Practice Team, and a former Assistant United States Attorney, he represents businesses and individuals facing scrutiny from federal and state regulators, including the Department of Justice, the SEC, the New York State Attorney General's Office, and other enforcement agencies. Mr. Allen’s practice focuses on white-collar defense, internal investigations, and the litigation that follows— focusing on the intersection of legal risk with reputational and operational concerns.
Clients come to him when the stakes are high, and the path forward isn’t obvious. He brings a prosecutor’s perspective to every matter, helping clients anticipate how the government evaluates cases, make informed decisions early, and position themselves for the best possible outcome—whether that means resolving an investigation efficiently, avoiding litigation, or defending aggressively when necessary.
Mr. Allen regularly advises:
- Companies responding to subpoenas, search warrants, and regulatory inquiries;
- Executives and professionals facing litigation; and
- Organizations conducting internal investigations.
His approach is practical and business-oriented: define the risk, control the narrative, and execute a strategy that aligns legal outcomes with broader business objectives.
Before private practice, Mr. Allen served as a federal prosecutor in the Western District of New York and as a prosecutor in the United States Marine Corps, where he developed a disciplined, trial-ready approach that continues to inform his work today. Mr. Allen grew up on a family farm in Baldwinsville, New York, and continues to serve as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Marine Corps Reserves, Judge Advocate Division.
