Robert G. Riegel, Jr.

Mr. Riegel, a management-side labor and employment attorney and partner with Lippes Mathias' Employment Team, is Board Certified in labor and employment law by The Florida Bar. With more than 40 years of experience representing employers across the full spectrum of employment law in Jacksonville, Florida, and throughout Florida and beyond, he focuses his practice on employment litigation and employer counseling.

As an experienced employment litigator, Bob handles all aspects of employment litigation, including jury trials, administrative hearings, and employment arbitration. He is known for litigating efficiently and effectively to achieve favorable results — whether early dismissal, settlement, summary judgment, or through trial. Bob has successfully litigated cases involving employment discrimination, retaliation, sexual harassment, racial harassment, wrongful discharge, wage and hour violations, and breach of contract.

As an advisor, Bob applies his litigation experience and instincts to counsel clients in crisis situations, including harassment investigations and complicated terminations. He also provides preventative employment counsel for employers on EEO compliance, wage and hour compliance, employee handbook drafting, employee benefits, personnel policies, reductions in force, affirmative action obligations, and employee discipline.

Bob also has extensive experience handling union-related matters as a management-side labor attorney, including NLRA (National Labor Relations Act) litigation and arbitration; Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) compliance and litigation; Fair Labor Standards Act compliance; Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) defense; Title VII claims; and restrictive covenants litigation, including noncompete and non-solicitation agreements.
