
Bio
Mr. Masse is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Practice Team. He focuses his practice on commercial, governmental, and real property litigation. A significant portion of his practice involves defending municipalities and public officials in civil rights litigation brought under 42 U.S.C. § 1983. He also has experience representing healthcare providers and medical professionals in the defense of medical malpractice claims.
Mr. Masse has gained valuable trial experience serving as second chair in a podiatric medical malpractice trial, where he assisted with voir dire, witness examination, and the preparation of pretrial and post-trial submissions.
While attending Boston University School of Law, he was a semi-finalist in the Boston University Negotiation Competition and served as a research assistant, assisting a professor with research on monetary theory, including the classification of public versus private money and its application to emerging forms of cryptocurrency. He spent his summers clerking for a prominent personal injury firm, where he gained extensive experience assisting with motion practice, depositions, trial preparation, and case strategy. He also volunteered his time advocating for tenants in eviction proceedings within the Housing Part of Buffalo City Court.
