Six Attorneys From Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman LLP Named to 2015

BUFFALO, NY- The Buffalo-based law firm of Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman LLP is pleased to announce that six attorneys from the firm were named to the 2015 Best Lawyers list.  

William E. Mathias II
was chosen in the category of Corporate Law. Within his practice, he has substantial experience in the public and private placement of debt and equity securities, and has worked with a number of private investors and venture capital and investment banking firms. He represents both commercial lenders and borrowers in structuring and closing secured loan transactions and work-outs.

Brian J. Bocketti, who serves on the firm’s Executive Committee, was selected for the Business Organizations, Commercial Finance Law and Corporate Law practice areas. He has extensive experience representing senior lenders, equity sponsors, and borrowers in senior debt and mezzanine financing arrangements. His representation in these areas has included transactions of up to a half billion dollars. Mr. Bocketti is also well-versed in negotiating stock and asset purchase agreements.

Helen Osgood was selected for inclusion in the category of Real Estate Law. Ms. Osgood focuses much of her practice on financial transactions, including structuring complex deals for major commercial lending institutions.

Blaine Schwartz
was also selected for inclusion in the category of Real Estate Law. He has worked on the acquisition, sale, development, planning, construction, leasing and financing of vacant land, retail shopping centers, religious buildings, shopping malls, office buildings, warehouses, industrial complexes, hotels, lifestyle communities, housing developments and apartments throughout the United States. He has also helped to structure, negotiate, close and finance a number of complex, multi-property transactions.

Paul F. Wells was chosen for the practice of Real Estate Law. He joined LMWF after spending 11 years as Regional General Counsel of the country’s largest privately owned commercial real estate developer. With extensive legal experience in commercial real estate development, Paul has represented buyers and sellers of shopping centers, hotels, office buildings, industrial buildings, mixed-use properties, self-storage facilities and mobile home parks in a variety of complex legal transactions.

Alan S. Wexler was selected for the fifth year in the category of Real Estate Law. Mr. Wexler represents buyers, sellers, developers, builders and lending institutions on a local and national level. Alan represents several commercial lenders involved in construction and permanent mortgage financings. He also serves as counsel to several real estate development companies, handling land acquisitions, leasing and financing.
