April 8, 2021 | Press Releases
BUFFALO, N.Y. – On April 8, 2021, Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman LLP Partner, Thomas J. Keable will speak as part of an American Chamber of Commerce in Canada (AMCHAM) Webinar, titled “Nexus” and U.S. Sales Tax after Wayfair -- Hot Tips and Practical Suggestions for Canadian Businesses. Tom and his co-panelists will discuss common concerns that Canadian businesses may have regarding United States sales tax after the United States Supreme Court's 2018 Wayfair ruling, which ruled that that states can mandate businesses lacking a physical presence in a state with more than 200 transactions or $100,000 in-state sales collect and remit sales taxes on transactions in the state.

The lunchtime webinar will begin at 12:00 p.m. on April 8.

Tom, a Partner with Lippes Mathias and the firm’s Canada-U.S. Cross Border Practice Team Leader, focuses his practice on assisting Canadian businesses, lenders and individuals on U.S. legal matters, including the purchase and sale of businesses; representation of lenders and borrowers in structuring financings and negotiation and drafting of loan and security agreements; the structuring of entities; and the preparation of agreements for a wide variety of business transactions and situations.
