BUFFALO, NY – Scott E. Friedman, chairman and CEO and Dennis C. Vacco, partner, at Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman LLP, are both speaking at the upcoming 2016 Families Business Conference presented by The Smith Family Business Initiative at Cornell University on October 21.

Friedman is part of the “Beyond Best Practices” panel discussing positive psychology and other future best practices. Vacco is participating in the presentation titled “Trust, Fraud and Cyber-security: Internal and External Threats to Your Business” and will speak on the role of building and keeping trust, especially as it relates to fraud within the family business.

The 2016 Families in Business Conference taking place in Ithaca will showcase emerging leaders and emerging trends in family business as well as bring together owners, alumni, students and advisors from across the globe. Founded in 2014 from a generous gift from John and Dyan Smith, the Smith Family Business Initiative provides education, networking and research for family business owners, successors and students from across the globe.

Mr. Friedman works on a variety of business transactions, strategically working to help position companies for growth and financial success. A large focus of his practice is spent providing counsel to family owned businesses.

Mr. Vacco is a former New York State Attorney General and focuses his practice on government investigations and compliance with the complex and ever-changing rules of the state and federal governments.
