Lippes Mathias LLP is pleased to welcome Haodong Zhong to its intellectual property practice team and New York City office, where he focuses on trademark portfolio management, brand protection, and intellectual property disputes. 

Zhong advises clients on domestic and international trademark prosecution and enforcement, Trademark Trial and Appeal Board proceedings, domain name disputes, and global trademark strategies across multiple jurisdictions. Drawing on a background in applied mathematics, he also counsels clients on AI governance, privacy, and emerging technology matters, helping organizations navigate legal and regulatory risks associated with AI-enabled products, data-driven technologies, and evolving compliance requirements. 

Zhong holds five certifications from the International Association of Privacy Professionals, including the Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US), Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E), Certified Information Privacy Professional/China (CIPP/CN), Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT), and Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP). His CIPP/E and CIPP/CN credentials reflect working knowledge of privacy frameworks across multiple regulatory regimes. 

A bilingual attorney fluent in English and Chinese, Zhong has worked with clients and foreign counsel across Asia, Europe, and Africa. He is a member of the International Trademark Association and the International Association of Privacy Professionals, and serves as a mentor with The Legal Mentor Network. 

Zhong earned his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 2023, where he served as a notes and articles editor for the Fordham Environmental Law Review and as an associate competition editor for the Fordham Law Moot Court Board. He holds a B.A., magna cum laude, from Vanderbilt University (2020).
