Lippes Mathias LLP is pleased to welcome Jennifer Arangio to the firm's real estate practice team in its Washington, D.C., office. Arangio represents owners, developers, investors, and corporate clients in commercial real estate and corporate matters, bringing to the role a background that spans private practice, senior federal executive service, and congressional oversight.
In private practice, Arangio has advised clients on corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, private placements, entity formation, governance, and regulatory matters. She began her legal career as a corporate and securities regulation attorney in New York, representing broker-dealers, hedge funds, and investment partnerships in corporate, transactional, and regulatory matters.
Arangio's government career includes senior positions across both the executive and legislative branches. She served as a senior director at the White House National Security Council, leading interagency policy on multilateral affairs, global development, and conflict stabilization. She later served as chief advisor to the administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development, advising agency leadership on budget, humanitarian, development, and policy priorities. Earlier, as senior counsel to Rep. Peter T. King on the House Committee on Homeland Security, she conducted oversight and advised committee leadership on cybersecurity, aviation security, critical infrastructure, appropriations, and national security matters, and contributed to the development of significant federal legislation. Her public engagement has also included a campaign for the New York City Council and a senior advisory role on a presidential campaign.
Arangio earned her J.D., cum laude, from New York Law School in 1996 and her B.A. in international affairs from The George Washington University in 1992. She was recognized as a rising star of the NYC GOP by The Observer and received the White House National Security Council Outstanding Service Award. She serves on the advisory board of the American Council on Women, Peace and Security and previously served on the editorial staff of the New York Law School Journal of International and Comparative Law. Earlier in her career, she completed a judicial internship at the U.S. Court of International Trade.
