JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Lippes Mathias partners Helen S. Atter, Kevin T. Merriman, Vincent M. Miranda and Christopher A. Walker presented “Law School for the CFO,” to the Jacksonville CFO Leadership Council. The presentation, hosted at Lippes Mathias’ Jacksonville office, provided attendees with valuable information on legal topics such as intellectual property and branding, insurance coverage, and employment law: three areas of law that directly affect the health of businesses.

Helen S. Atter handles a broad range of complex and specialized issues inherent in the sports industry, including corporate, employment, real estate, intellectual property, licensing, and contract matters. In addition to her experience in the sports sector, she focuses on corporate and business law, assisting individuals and companies in business formation, corporate transactions, branding, and intellectual property issues.

Kevin T. Merriman counsels corporate and institutional clients in a broad range of risk and insurance issues, providing detailed insurance coverage analyses, and working collaboratively with brokers and insurers to meet clients’ business and insurance objectives. As a problem-solver, he provides thoughtful strategic analyses and practical insights to optimize coverage and minimize disputes.

Vincent M. Miranda regularly represents employers before state and federal administrative agencies and in state and federal courts and advises employers regarding discipline, termination, disability and leave laws, and wage and hour compliance. He performs sexual harassment and other misconduct investigations and drafts, negotiates, and litigates employment, separation, and restrictive covenant agreements.

Christopher A. Walker, Partner-in-Charge of the firm’s Jacksonville office, advises investors, financial institutions, developers, builders, contractors, condominiums and civic associations, and others in the development, negotiation, and financing of complex real estate transactions, including multifamily housing, affordable housing, commercial and industrial properties, and senior housing, including working on necessary debt structures, public finance components, and economic development matters.
