Lippes Mathias LLP has added Naomie A. Droll as counsel in its Washington, D.C. office, where she is a member of the firm's Indian law practice team. An enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, Droll advises tribal governments, Alaska Native entities, and tribally affiliated organizations on tribal governance, economic development, federal Indian law, and public policy. 

Droll's tribal governance work encompasses tribal codes, election issues, tribal-state compacts, Section 17 corporations, nonprofit governance, contracts, and compliance. She also advises clients on legislative and regulatory developments affecting Indian Country and assists with advocacy efforts before Congress, federal agencies, and the Executive Branch. 

Prior to joining Lippes Mathias, Droll maintained a tribal law and policy practice serving tribal governments and organizations nationwide. She has provided legal and public policy counsel to tribal governments and Alaska Native entities on legislative strategy, coalition building, and federal engagement, and served as general counsel to a regional tribal government in Alaska. Her experience also includes supporting Alaska Native subsistence rights through federal regulatory processes and working with tribes and federal agencies on treaty rights, natural resources, and community development. 

Earlier in her career, Droll served as an attorney with the Navajo Nation Department of Justice, advising on commercial development, procurement, gaming, intellectual property, and voting rights matters. 

Droll earned her J.D., cum laude, from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2020 and her B.A., cum laude, from Rollins College in 2016. She is a Navajo Law Fellow, a Richard Milanovich Fellow, and a Gates Millennium Scholar. She serves on the board of Scholars Equity Network, Inc., as a pro bono attorney with the Navajo Nation Bar Association, and as a scholarship evaluator for Native Forward.
