Lawrence H. Schaefer Awarded the Legion of Merit Following Retirement from 20-Plus Year Military Career

ALBANY, N.Y. – Lawrence H. Schaefer, Partner and member of Lippes Mathias LLP’s Public Sector Labor Practice Team, has been awarded with the Legion of Merit following his retirement from a 20-plus-year career with the United States military. An honor reserved for only a small segment of veterans, the Legion of Merit is bestowed upon those with exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services and achievements.

Larry, who will retire from service as a “full bird” Colonel, most recently served with the New York Air National Guard as a Colonel and Staff Judge Advocate for Joint Forces Headquarters-Air in Latham, New York, and prior to that, he served as a judge advocate with the United States Air Force. As a Partner in Lippes Mathias LLP’s Albany office, Larry focuses his practice on representing labor unions and individuals before arbitrators, mediators, administrative agencies, and in New York’s state and federal courts.
