BUFFALO, N.Y. – Andrew M. Wilson, partner and team co-leader of Lippes Mathias’ immigration practice, will serve as both a moderator and panelist at the 2022 Upper Midwest Immigration Law Conference. The panel, titled: “Consular Practices in Post-Covid World: Issues with Consular Priorities & Backlogs,” will go over key considerations, including:
- Any trouble posts for L’s (including Blanket L-Is), H’s and O-Is?
- Procedures for expediting vias appointments
- Updates on visa interview waiver, drop box & “nothing is off the table” options
- Issues with TN processing at various POE’s/PFIs & TCN processing through Canada
- Delays with employment-based immigrant visa cases
- Returning resident visas – possible or a pipe dream despite COVID-19?
The panel, scheduled for Friday, May 20 from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. (CST) will also include Poorvi Chothani and Steven D. Heller as speakers.
Andrew focuses on building long-lasting relationships with clients as a trusted advisor as opposed to simply completing specific transactions and filings. He represents companies, major league sports teams and individuals in all areas of immigration law, including non-immigrant and immigrant employment-based immigration matters. This includes preparing case-specific strategies to address both short and long-term objectives. Andrew has extensive experience with challenging H-1B, NAFTA TN and O-1 extraordinary ability cases. He is often called upon by other AILA immigration attorneys to help with difficult NAFTA TN matters. Andrew also handles all green card matters including EB-1, EB-2 and PERM labor certification filings. In addition, he represents individuals and families with family-based immigration filings, as well as waivers for admissibility issues.
