
Bio
Henry F. Wojtaszek is Senior Counsel at Lippes Mathias LLP, where he brings more than three decades of legal experience, public service, and business leadership to the firm. He focuses his practice on municipal law and public finance matters, and advises local governments, public officials, and municipal boards on matters including municipal governance, public contracts, and compliance with state and federal regulations, and other legal challenges.
Prior to joining Lippes Mathias LLP, Henry served as Chief Executive Officer of Batavia Downs Gaming, beginning as General Counsel in 2013 before ascending to CEO in 2016. Henry led the organization through a period of tremendous growth and expansion. Under Henry's leadership, Batavia Downs acquired a hotel and conference facility, expanded its gaming floor, and introduced new programming, including a concert series, that led to several consecutive years of record growth. Upon his retirement in 2024, Batavia Downs had become one of Upstate New York’s most prominent gaming and entertainment venues.
Immediately following law school, Henry was commissioned into the United States Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps. During his four years of active duty, Henry served as both trial and defense counsel, handling a range of legal matters for service members. His assignments took him to the Washington Navy Yard, the Pentagon, and aboard the USS Blakely (Charleston, SC) and USS Luce (Mayport, FL). He was awarded both the Navy Commendation Medal and the Navy Achievement Medal for exemplary service.
From 1998 to 2005, he served as the elected City Attorney for North Tonawanda, and then joined Harris Beach PLLC, where he was a partner from 2005 to 2013.
