BUFFALO, N.Y. – Scott E. Friedman, Lippes Mathias Partner, and Immediate Past Chairman, presented to students studying at the University at Buffalo School of Management. During Scott’s presentation, titled “The World is Flat Complex,” Scott shared his insights as a lawyer, consultant, investor – and continuing student - on how to live a happier and more fulfilling life – while being more successful in business along the way. Scott also discussed the dramatic changes to global regionalism in the 21st Century and the creation of a seamless global commercial network that is not only increasingly “flat” but increasingly complex as well. 

Serving as the Team Co-Leader for both Lippes Mathias’s Startups & Venture Capital and Family Business Practice Teams, Scott E. Friedman is a partner and the immediate past chairman of Lippes Mathias, the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Varia Ventures, a management consulting firm with a capital raising platform, and a General Partner in Impact Capital of New York, LLC, an Upstate New York venture capital fund. The author of seven books and over 100 articles on business, he serves as an Entrepreneur in Residence at the University at Buffalo’s School of Management. Scott is also a frequent speaker at professional, university and corporate sponsored events across the United States on a variety of topics, including entrepreneurship, innovation, and family businesses.
