Joseph W. Schafer Speaks on Cannabis Industry Panel at Buffalo Startup Weekend

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Lippes Mathias attorney and member of the firm’s cannabis practice team, Joseph W. Schafer, spoke on the panel titled “Cannabis Industry Today” at Buffalo Startup Weekend on Friday, February 10. In addition to Schafer, the panel, curated by BootSector, featured Nhi Kha (Sativa Remedy), Jenna Myers (Vangst), Jeff Lombardo (Charlotte’s Web), John Gerber (StonedCold Infusions).

As a member of Lippes Mathias’ corporate practice team, Schafer assists clients with mergers and acquisitions, business formation and structuring, licensing, contract review, and other general matters. He also advises clients on hemp regulations, the Marijuana Regulation and Taxation Act, and has handled litigation matters for clients involved in the cannabis industry. In addition, Schafer is a member of the firm’s sports, entertainment & hospitality team and has prior experience as a legal intern with the United States Tennis Association.
