BUFFALO, N.Y. – Lippes Mathias Partner Ian A. Shavitz will moderate the Transportation Panel at The Business Council of New York State’s 2021 Renewable Energy Conference.

Ian A. Shavitz is a Partner with Lippes Mathias and serves as the Practice Leader of the firm's Environment & Energy, Renewable Energy, and Transportation Teams.  Mr. Shavitz has more than 20 years of experience counseling and advocating for clients on environmental and land use issues associated with developing large-scale infrastructure, energy, transportation, and commercial projects; securing federal, state, and local government permits and approvals; advising on environmental issues associated with corporate, real estate and energy transactions; and advocating for favorable policy decisions and legislation before Congress. While Mr. Shavitz’s practice is national in scope, he has expertise advising clients on projects, transactions, and legal issues in New York State, where he has practiced for his entire career.

The two-day virtual conference will focus on the benefits and impacts of New York State energy policy changes through panel discussions on, among other topics, the development and deployment of wind and solar resources, the reduction of emissions in the transportation sector, and the work of the Climate Action Council.
