Lippes Mathias LLP is pleased to welcome Michael J. Gionta as counsel in its Rochester office, where he joins the firm's corporate practice team focusing on mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, strategic investments, and corporate governance. 

Gionta advises public and private companies, investors, founders, and strategic buyers in complex transactions across a range of private equity and independent sponsor industries, including food and beverage, healthcare, human capital management, technology, energy, security, and sports and entertainment. His transaction experience spans early-stage investments to billion-dollar acquisitions and divestitures. He also serves as general counsel to business clients on matters including formations, commercial contracting, compliance, and capital raises, and has assisted both start-up and Fortune 500 clients in negotiating and closing minority investment and joint venture transactions. 

Gionta earned his J.D., cum laude, from Ohio Northern University College of Law in 2017 and his B.S.B.A. from John Carroll University in 2014. He has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch© for 2025 and 2026, by Upstate New York Super Lawyers® as a Rising Star from 2022 through 2026, and received the Rochester Business Journal and The Daily Record Up & Coming Lawyer — Attorneys of the Year Award in 2025.
