Mr. Tuppen represents public sector labor unions in matters involving members’ terms and conditions of employment, including disciplinary arbitrations, contract grievance arbitrations, improper employer practices before the New York State Public Employment Relations Board, administrative hearings before the New York State Justice Center, and related litigation matters in New York State courts.

Prior to joining Lippes Mathias, John was Investigative Counsel with the New York State Offices of the Inspector General, where he led investigations of fraud, corruption, and misconduct affecting New York State government. John has also served as Associate Counsel with the New York State Board of Elections’ enforcement division, investigating allegations of both criminal and civil campaign finance violations. John also has significant trial experience. Having previously served as both a criminal prosecutor and defense attorney, John has tried dozens of cases before juries in New York State courts, and is a tenacious advocate for the due process rights of his clients.
