Lippes Mathias today announced that Robert B. Rowe has joined the firm as a senior associate in its tax controversy practice in West Palm Beach. Rowe focuses his practice on tax controversy and audit defense, assisting clients with federal income tax and federal gratuitous transfer tax matters. 

Before joining Lippes Mathias, Rowe worked for the Internal Revenue Service’s Office of Chief Counsel in the Large Business and International Tax Division. In that role, he represented the IRS in Tax Court and assisted in examinations of large businesses and high-net-worth individuals, handling tax issues related to international transactions, transfer pricing, large partnerships, corporate structures, private equity, real estate, cannabis, and micro-captive insurance. 

Earlier in his career, Rowe worked at a Big Four accounting firm, where he advised publicly held multinational enterprises, private and closely held businesses, and individuals on domestic and international tax planning. 

Rowe earned his J.D. and LL.M. in taxation, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law in 2016. He also holds an M.B.A. from Boston University Questrom School of Business and a B.A. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
