WASHINGTON, D.C. – Michael G. Rossetti, a partner at Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman LLP, participated in a panel discussion on Indian gaming advocacy at the 2019 National Indian and Gaming Association Midyear Conference & Expo on September 18.
This year’s conference, themed “Election 2020: The Year that Mattered,” addressed key issues surrounding tribal gaming and where it stands during the 2020 Presidential Election. At NIGA’s membership meeting, Mr. Rossetti presented tips on “Effective Legislative Advocacy in a Presidential Election Year” and the processes in drawing government attention to the future and continuity of Indian Country traditions and gaming.
At Lippes Mathias, Mr. Rossetti is the firm's Indian Law Practice Team co-leader, focused on advising tribal clients on economic development and Indian gaming, tribal governance matters, litigation matters, and the settlement of Indian water rights. He also lobbies on a broad range of tribal concerns and advises clients on land use and other issues before the Department of the Interior, including the Bureau of Land Management, the Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Park Service.
