Lippes Mathias today announced that Kevin J. Cross, the firm’s managing partner and chairman, has been ranked #62 by Buffalo Business First on its 2023 Power 250 list – 59 spots higher than his 2022 ranking of #121. Every year, Buffalo Business First compiles this list of people making changes and improvements throughout Buffalo and Western New York. The list changes every year based on events, news and promotions.

As the firm's managing partner, Mr. Cross is charged with responsibility for all of the firm's offices, attorneys and staff and leads the firm's executive committee. He is the conduit to the firm's partnership and its executive operations team. Mr. Cross coordinates the firm's strategic direction, implementation of initiatives and goals, and attorney recruitment. One of his main focuses is centered on positive culture and the promotion of a collegial and collaborative professional environment where team members focus on client objectives and the betterment of the firm as a whole.

In the last calendar year, Mr. Cross has led the firm’s expansion into three new cities, including Cleveland, Ohio where the firm opened its eleventh office by way of its largest combination to date with Fay Sharpe LLP, an intellectual property law firm founded in 1884 and known for their extensive experience in trademarks, copyrights, and patents relating to chemical, mechanical, and electrical engineering; computer and material sciences; physics; chemistry; biotechnology; and more. The move, which was overseen by Mr. Cross, saw 20 intellectual property attorneys and 22 legal professionals join Lippes Mathias, bringing the firm’s attorney count to nearly 170.
