BUFFALO, N.Y. (Dec. 3, 2023)—Lippes Mathias partner and government & corporate investigations practice team member Karl J. Sleight attended the 2023 Council on Governmental Ethics Laws Conference, where he spoke during the multi-disciplinary portion of the conference as part of a panel presentation titled “Building Relationships for Better Outcomes: Interactions with the Regulated Community,” which included an engaging Q&A session focused on navigating the complexities of representing the regulated community in areas such as campaign finance, lobbying, and conflict of interest. The session offered a platform to discuss attendees’ experiences and learn from industry experts, fostering a deeper understanding of the intricate landscape of the realms discussed. 

Karl J. Sleight is a partner and member of Lippes Mathias LLP’s government & corporate investigations practice team. A former Executive Director of the New York State Ethics Commission, and Deputy Assistant Attorney General, Karl has testified before the New York State legislature and authored numerous op-eds in favor of ethics law reform and enforcement. Karl has also served as Special Counsel to the New York State Legislative Ethics Commission and represents individuals and companies involved in enforcement actions.
