Bio
Mr. Daniels is a member of the firm’s health care practice group where he focuses his practice on providing counsel to hospitals, health systems, health care organizations, medical practices, home care agencies, medical transportation providers and other health care providers and organizations providing services to health care organizations on medical/legal, regulatory and health care specific transactional issues including HIPAA Compliance, Medicaid, Medicare, False Claims Act, 340B program compliance, Certificate of Need applications, utilization review, discharge planning, difficult discharges, risk management, guardianships, affiliation agreements, provider-based issues, payor contracting, insurance claim denials, Stark, Anti-Kickback, federal (OIG, DOJ and HRSA), state (OMIG, DOH and MFCU), joint commission and DNV audits and investigations, self-disclosures, physician contracting, corporate integrity agreements, health home formation and compliance, recovery audits, billing and coding compliance, tax exempt issues, joint ventures, collections, facilitated enrollment, Affordable Care Act Compliance, physician discipline and reporting, medical staff issues and governance, professional licensure and misconduct, professional entity formation, Not-For-Profit issues, accreditation, corporate compliance, compliance policies and procedures and home care compliance.   

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Daniels was an in-house attorney at one of the region’s largest health care organizations. He served as the Compliance Officer for a large multi-specialty physician group and prior to that in an Executive Health Care Operations Fellowship where he reported to the Chief Operating Officer of a large health care system. 

Mr. Daniels is also a member of the firm’s corporate practice group where he focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, business transactions and general corporate matters and the firm’s cannabis practice group where he counsels cannabis industry businesses and investors on regulatory issues at the federal level and at the state and local level in multiple states and localities.
