The Buffalo office of Lippes Mathias LLP is seeking an experienced Residential Real Estate Paralegal to join our team. The successful candidate will have experience with regional Real Estate closing procedures including overseeing relevant contingency dates, preparing closing statements and documents. Responsibilities will also include overflow transactional legal work. 


  • Assist in the formatting/drafting of legal documents
  • Prepare final documents for closing and interface with clients and opposing counsel to coordinate closings
  • Prepare memoranda for opening new matters
  • Maintain and organize physical files
  • Monitor and update attorney and non-attorney professional calendar(s)
  • Create and maintain schedules for client meetings 
  • Create/maintain electronic directories
  • Prepare and send out transmittal letters
  • Save, print and file document submissions 
  • Maintain time entry for billable hours for attorneys 
  • Make travel arrangements
  • Prepare and submit expense reports
  • Perform general office duties as required


  • 2+ years of paralegal experience in residential Real Estate transactions
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ProLaw
  • Accurate typing speed of 65+ wpm 
  • Experience with editing, revising and drafting of legal documents
  • Ability to complete projects with little direction
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal court rules
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High accuracy rate and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • Ability to use discretion and handle confidential information
  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce high quality work products
