The Jacksonville office of Lippes Mathias LLP is seeking an experienced legal assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support the team in all aspects of the work of the office and the firm. 
Responsibilities will include:
  • Prepare memoranda for opening new matters
  • Assist in the formatting/drafting of legal documents
  • Monitor and update attorney and non-attorney professional calendar(s)
  • Create and maintain schedules for client meetings 
  •  Edit documents, whether provided electronic edits or hand-written edits
  • Maintain time entry for billable hours for attorneys 
  • Create/maintain electronic directories
  • Prepare and send out transmittal letters
  • Make travel arrangements
  • Prepare and submit expense reports
  • ave, print, scan, and file all transmittal documents on each file
  • Perform general office duties as required
Our ideal Legal Assistant will have:
  • At least 3 years of Legal Assistant experience
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ProLaw
  • Accurate typing speed of 65+ wpm 
  • Experience with editing, revising and drafting of legal documents
  • Ability to complete projects with little direction
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal court rules
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High accuracy rate and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • Ability to use discretion and handle confidential information
  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce high quality work products
