Blaine Schwartz is a highly experienced commercial real estate attorney and practices in the firm's commercial real estate department. He is a former General Counsel for the largest family-owned (and 7th largest) commercial real estate developer in the United States. Mr. Schwartz has been involved in structuring, negotiating, closing and financing complex multi-property real estate transactions of up to $2.25 billion (the sale of 110 properties in one transaction to a REIT). His experience includes the acquisition, sale, development, planning, construction, leasing and financing of vacant land, retail shopping centers, shopping malls, office buildings (including medical office buildings), warehouses, industrial complexes, hotels, lifestyle communities, housing developments (including college student housing) and apartments throughout the United States with a concentration in New York and Florida. Mr. Schwartz's financing experiences include commercial mortgages, lines of credit, bond financings and securitized transactions and his real estate background includes structuring IRS Section 1031 tax deferred exchanges.
